Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recent studies of memory suggest that metabolic function disorders generally is accompanied by some form of cognitive impairment (Redondo, Reales and Ballesteros, 2010). In old age, during\u00a0aging there is a decrease in the glucorregulaci\u00f3n (Ramasamy, Vanuci Yam, 2005). Diseases such as DM2 presented glucose disorders (hyperglycemia). Arvanitakis, 2004, Gagnon and Messier Awad., 2004, suggest that DM2 is associated with risk of dementia in old age, \u00abdiabetic encephalopathy\u00bb. Den Heijer, Vermeer, Van Dijk et al., (2003), found worse performance in working memory, declara-tive and executive functions in subjects with DM2 suggesting memory impairment.
\nA way to study distortions of memory is through the DRM paradigm, Roediger and McDermott 1995. The DRM task results are different depending on the pathology (Simons et al., 2005, Gardiner, Moritz et al., 2005). These results are explained with monitoring process, (Gallo, 2006). Our goal is the study of monitoring in patients with DM2, in memory tasks, including experimental manipula-tion similar to Benjamin (2001): response time in the recognition test. The results showed as sub-jects with DM2 did not benefit from the situations, showing same levels of FR along experimen-tal\/monitoring conditions.
