Un ejemplo de esta perspectiva de investigaci\u00f3n es el modelo de doble impacto de Able (2000). Este modelo se desarroll\u00f3 para explicar diferencias de g\u00e9nero en los procesos relacionados con la carrera y predice que ser un hombre o una mujer impli-ca un autoconcepto, derivado en gran medida de los roles de g\u00e9nero que se consideren. Este auto-concepto influye en otras variables psicol\u00f3gicas relacionadas con la elecci\u00f3n de carrera, por ejem-plo las expectativas de autoeficacia, o las metas, que tienen un impacto directo
