Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of this piece of research was to analyze of affective relationships between parents and\u00a0children during middle childhood and to determine their relationship with self-esteem in a sample\u00a0group comprising 111 children (mean age=5.08 years). The projective measurement instruments\u00a0used were: the \u201cAttachment Story Completion Task\u201d (Verschueren and Marcoen, 1994) and the\u00a0\u201cPuppet Interview\u201d (Verschueren, Schoefs and Marcoen, 1986). The results obtained confirm that,\u00a0in general, security in the representation of attachment is greater with mothers, and that the relationship\u00a0between security of attachment with the father and self-esteem (positiveness of self) is\u00a0greater in boys.
